Return to the past
I cannot return to the past,
I no longer belong there,
My laughter is just a shadow of the building,
My sorrow spilled in past tense,
And, shakily, I reach out for that clock,
Uselessly, I try to return that time,
Accompanied by the hollow clock chime,
The laughter of merciless time,
I cannot return to the past,
Nothing awaits there anymore,
All of the buildings ruined, blown up,
To the soldier just returning from the war,
Uselessly, I repair, brick by brick,
I weep in the past tense despair,
Nothing, it is useless,
To come back to the time,
That no longer wants you there
